GYSBI’s Procurement department consists of a local team of buyers and contract administrators who, collectively, boast over 10 years procurement expertise in the local marketplace. Headed up by a Senior Procurement Officer the team fall under the direct management of the Supply Chain Manager.
GYSBI utilizes a web-based e-procurement software system that automates the entire purchasing process. By using this system, GYSBI ensures the procurement process functions in a highly efficient and seamless manner, as well as being completely transparent.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
GYSBI manages its warehouse facility which acts as a central delivery point for all goods procured. Our experienced warehouse clerks, who are all fully trained in using our e-system, are experts in storing, maintaining, and issuing all materials and consumables. Our inventory ranges from fleet spares, facility and construction maintenance materials to PPE, Office Consumables, and specialized equipment such as rigging and lifting equipment.
Our Inventory system automatically re-orders spares when the minimum thresholds are met, whilst monitoring lead times and supplier issues. This ensures we always have critical stock/spares on hand, while mitigating stock shortages.
INTERNATIONAL PROCUREMENT
WE PROCURE, CLEAR, RECEIVE, DELIVER, STORE AND MANAGE CARGO
At GYSBI, we also procure internationally from specialized equipment and fleet to bespoke construction materials. Our procurement team manages our supply chain of international suppliers as they do for our local suppliers.
GYSBI maintains a corporate affiliation with several shipping companies who exclusively focus on shipping to Guyana from USA, Europe & Asia.
Our Shipping Procedure clearly outlines the responsibilities of our shippers and our preferred shipping methods for various materials and products that are ordered on a regular basis, to ensure protection and quality is maintained during shipping and delivery. The procedure also outlines required documentation, shipping restrictions in Guyana, inspection at the port, clearance procedures and ensures compliance with Guyana Custom Importation laws and regulations.
OUR CUSTOMS TEAM
Our experienced team of Customs Brokers manages getting international shipments processed and cleared in a timely manner.
GYSBI uses a computerized customs management e-system to submit all clearance documentation to the GRA. This e-system covers most foreign trade procedures and manages manifests and customs declarations, accounting, transit, and suspense procedures.
